After creating your Products and Printers, it is essential to assign the printers to the products in order to print the order ticket.

To do this, go to Groups

1. Select a group and click on the button to edit.

2. Assign a printer or a printers’ group, depending on the required setup in your business.

Note: Remember that, in order to print the same product on two or more printers at the same time, you must create a Printers’ Group.

Recommendation: if the setup of your products allows it, it is advisable to set up the printers in the group. That’s the way, if the setup does not change, to avoid having to set up the printers in each category and/or product, since REVO uses the setup from the top group.

Example

We have a group called main, where there is a category starters and inside, all the products. We want, like the rest of the categories, to print all the menu products on the kitchen printer.

In this case, and as we mentioned before, we should only configure the printer in the menu group and all the products would be printed in the kitchen printer.

Explanation

As we can see in the image above and following the example, the Starters categories and in this case the rest of the categories, obtains the configuration of the kitchen printer of its group, in this case Main.

How do you know?

At first glance, we can see in the image that the ^Epson white printer appears in grey and with the ^ icon in front of the name. This means that this configuration comes from its previous group, in this case the Main group.

If the printer were configured in the same category, it would appear in bold.

Explanation

In this image, we are in the Starters category, and we can see all the products that make it up. In this case, most of the products get their printer configuration from their group (Main) and, on the other hand, the Edamame and the Veggie tempura have a different printer configuration (Epson black), so only these two products will be printed differently from the rest.

How do you know?

Again, as we have seen above, in the first products ^^Epson white appears in grey, but this time it is accompanied by two ^^ which means that you get the configuration of two higher levels, i.e. the Main group (Group - Category - Product). If there were only one ^^ it would mean that it gets the configuration of only one higher level, i.e. of its category.

Furthermore, we can see that both the Edamame and the Veggie Tempura have in bold the configuration of the printer (Epson black), so at a glance we can confirm that it gets the configuration from itself, from the product.

Note: The priority that REVO uses for printers is pyramidal: i.e. products -> categories -> groups. For example, in the above case, it first looks at the configuration of the ebi onigiri (product), if there is nothing configured (this symbol -- is used), it looks at incoming (category) and if there is nothing configured either, it finally looks at menu (group) and there it finds the kitchen printer (^^Epson white) configured. However, the edamame will be printed on kitchen printer 2 which is configured in the product (Epson black).
